to create a dot file in Windows, put a dot at the end too.
For example to create .htaccess in explorer, rename to .htaccess.
windows will drop the dot at the end since the extension is nothing

command prompt rename works as expected, rename to .htaccess

Works in Vista and Win 7.

My 2005 Dell Dimension 3000 80 gig hard drive (original equip) is going bad and needs replacing. I had the OS system restore CD sent to me by Dell and bought a 500 Gig hard drive. I put the new drive in and hit F12 to boot from the CD and nothing happened. A friend said the PC bios may not be able to "see" the new drive. What drive is compatible with this PC? I know it's old, but it still suits my needs.

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop.I want to know what HD should I upgrade to, since the one I have installed is full of space.The HD I that is in the PC is called WDC 400BB-00DEA0.And also how can I remove unwanted programs I don't want to have on PC.

you can tweak it with git diff --name-only HEAD@{1} HEAD instead of git diff HEAD^

Hi, Looks like this only works if the pull contains 1 commit, if it has many commits, if the latest commit doesn't have something on migrations, it doesn't do nothing.

You said you chose Bash so that you could take some time to learn it. Unfortunately however, your shebang points to sh not bash. There is some differences.

I understand that. I was saying you can't create a dotfile from Windows Explorer. I usually edit them in Git Bash (inside Console2)

Windows doesn’t understand dot files (i.e., .bashrc, .gitignore, etc).
Windows expects your files to have a name.extension convention.

use a notepad for that:D

type "git config -l" or "cat /c/Users/Administrator/.gitconfig" in Git Bash. What value do you have for color.ui? Normally it just says true or false.

To set it properly:
git config color.ui true
